Help / Bring in and organize scripts

Write and organize scripts

Tap Add, then New Script, and write in the editor. Folders keep scripts apart, Search scripts finds any of them, and each script in the library shows about how long it takes to read.

  1. Start a script. In the library, tap Add, then New Script. Import is in the same menu for a file you already have.
  2. Format it. The editor's bar has Smaller and Larger, Bold, Italic, Underline, Text color, Highlight and Alignment, and Add cue for the paragraph under the cursor. Tap Prompt to read it.
  3. Keep it in a folder. Add, then New Folder, makes one. Move to, on a script's menu, puts it in a folder or back in All Scripts. Deleting a folder keeps the scripts inside it and moves them to All Scripts.
  4. Find it. Type in Search scripts at the top of the library. Touch and hold a script (Control-click on a Mac) for Rename, Duplicate, Move to and Export as Text.

How long a script reads

Each script in the library shows "About 4 min", or whatever it comes to, worked out at 150 words a minute, or 300 characters a minute for Chinese and Japanese. An empty script reads Draft. It's a guide: time yourself with the reading pace test or the script timer for your own pace.

Scripts sync to your other devices through your own iCloud. To read several scripts in order, put them in a rundown; see run orders.

If that didn't work

If a script is missing from the library, check All Scripts and the search first, then write to us with the device. Write to us.
