One price for every Apple device

The button on the locked screen reads Unlock Forever and shows Apple's price for your country. The app itself never sets a price: the App Store does, in your currency, with any tax your country adds.

The locked screen's three paths

When you first open Cutvey Teleprompter, it asks you to accept the App License Agreement and the Privacy Policy, then shows exactly three ways in:

1. Unlock Forever. Buy it once through the App Store. One purchase opens the app on every iPhone, iPad and Mac signed in to the same Apple Account, and the Watch remote follows the iPhone.
2. Sign in with Cutvey. If your company's Cutvey plan includes the app, enter your work email and the six-digit code we email you. No password.
3. Restore Purchase. Bought it already on this Apple Account? This brings it back. Usually you will not need it, because a purchase made on one device reaches the others on its own.

Under the three, the screen links the App License Agreement and the Privacy Policy. They are documents to read, and nothing else is for sale.

What the one purchase includes

Every feature, on every device the app runs on:

• Voice follow, which trims the scroll speed to your read using Apple's on-device speech recognition
• Mirroring on both axes, and a clean feed to an external display or a rig
• Recording under the lens on iPhone and iPad, in 1080p or 4K at 24, 25 or 30 frames a second
• Sessions of up to eight devices by default (you can allow up to 16), as remote, monitor or editor
• The Apple Watch remote, any browser on your network as a remote, keyboards, pedals, presentation clickers, media remotes, game controllers and, on the Mac, the Contour ShuttlePro v2 and ShuttleXpress
• Run orders, cues with their own speed, a countdown, quick edits at reading size
• Imports from Word, PDF, PowerPoint speaker notes, Final Draft, Fountain, RTF and text
• .srt captions timed from the scroll, and cue markers for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve
• On the Mac: Call mode under the camera, Hide from screen sharing, keep on top and window opacity
• iCloud sync through your own private iCloud, and a one-file backup of the library

Included with a Cutvey plan

Cutvey is the production office for video companies, and every paid Cutvey plan includes Cutvey Teleprompter for each person on it.

Each person signs in with their Cutvey email and an emailed code, and can use the app on up to three devices at once. Signing in on a fourth signs out the device used least recently. A signed-in device checks in with Cutvey about once a day while it is open and keeps working offline for up to seven days. Crew seats are not included. Cutvey's own pricing.

If you leave the plan, the app locks again on your devices. A purchase made with Unlock Forever is yours for good whatever happens to a workspace, and if you buy it after signing in, your seat's place goes back to the workspace for someone else.

How it compares on price

Some of these have free tiers, and we do not. If you only need to read a phone now and then, one of them may cost you nothing. Every app, side by side.

Buying for more than one person

The purchase belongs to one Apple Account. Everyone who signs in to the App Store with that account gets the app on their iPhone, iPad and Mac, and anyone on a different Apple Account buys their own copy. There is no Family Sharing for it.

For a team, a Cutvey plan is usually simpler. Each person on the plan signs in with their own Cutvey email, the app opens on up to three of their devices, and when someone leaves the team their seat goes to the next person. A studio that already runs its jobs in Cutvey pays nothing extra for the app.

On a new device

Install Cutvey Teleprompter from the App Store on the new iPhone, iPad or Mac, signed in with the same Apple Account, and open it. It reads your purchase from the App Store and opens fully, usually without a tap. If it still shows the locked screen, tap Restore Purchase. A Watch needs nothing: it follows its iPhone. Why one price

A teleprompter is a tool you open on shoot days. Paying for it every month, or buying a mirror, a remote or a second device one tier at a time, makes it harder to own. So there is one price, everything is in it, and it does not change. If something is missing that you need, we would rather hear about it than sell it to you later as an add-on: tell us.

Refunds and problems

Purchases are made and refunded through Apple, under Apple's rules: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. A refunded purchase stops counting, and the app locks again. If a purchase does not show on another device, see the purchase isn't on my other device, or write to us and a person will reply, usually within one business day.

Questions people ask

How much is Cutvey Teleprompter?

$19.99 once in the US, and the local App Store price elsewhere. It is free to download, and the one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac on the same Apple Account, with the Apple Watch remote.

Is there a subscription?

No. It is one in-app purchase with no subscription, no tiers and no add-ons. It is also included per seat with a Cutvey Solo, Pro, Studio or Enterprise plan.

Do I pay again for the Mac?

No. iPhone, iPad and Mac share one purchase on the same Apple Account. The Mac app is a native Mac app, and it is the same product.

Is there a free trial or a free version?

No. The app is free to download and opens on a locked screen until you buy it once, sign in with a Cutvey plan that includes it, or restore a purchase. The free online teleprompter on this site costs nothing and needs no sign-up.

Will it ever go on sale?

No. Cutvey does not run sales, launch offers or price cuts on its apps.

Does Family Sharing work?

No. The purchase is not shared with family members, so each Apple Account buys its own.
