Help / Bring in and organize scripts

Build a run order (rundown)

A rundown holds scripts in the order they go out, with a note on each item. Prompt it and you step from script to script, or let it advance to the next one by itself when a script ends.

  1. Make one. In the library, tap Add, then New Rundown (on the Mac also File, New Rundown). Rename it from its menu.
  2. Add the scripts. Open the rundown, then More, Add Scripts. Tap scripts in the order they go out; the same script can go in more than once. Tap Done.
  3. Order them and add notes. Drag rows to reorder, swipe to remove. The speech bubble on a row adds a note, such as a duration or a camera. Notes show in the rundown list.
  4. Prompt it. Tap Prompt. The Run order chip shows where you are, as in 2 of 5, with Up next and the arrows for Previous script and Next script.
  5. Advance by itself, if you want. The switch on the run order bar is Advance to the next script automatically, off by default. With it on, the next script opens when one ends; while you record, it waits for the take to save first.

Keys and clocks

Command-Right and Command-Left go to the next and previous script. Two clocks sit beside the reading clocks: ITEM is how long this item has been on screen, and SHOW is how long since the first start of the show.

Deleting a rundown keeps its scripts. A script deleted from the library shows as Missing script and is skipped.

If that didn't work

If Prompt is grayed out, the rundown has no scripts it can open. Add one with Add Scripts. Write to us.
