Help / Set up a rig or a second screen

Send a clean feed to a second display

Plug an iPhone or iPad into a display, or open External Feed in the Mac's Window menu, and the script goes out full screen with no controls on it. The feed has its own mirror switches and a choice of layouts.

  1. Connect the display. iPhone and iPad: plug in the display. Mac: choose Window, External Feed (Shift-Command-E), drag the window to the second display and make it full screen.
  2. Pick the layout. Both screens shows the script on both. Rig only puts the words on the display and leaves the clocks, cues and controls on your device. This device only holds the display on a standby card while you read on the device.
  3. Mirror the feed, if it's under glass. Mirror the feed left to right and Mirror the feed top to bottom apply to the display only, so you read normally on your device.
  4. Keep a standby card. Show a standby card when nothing is open puts STANDBY on the display between scripts. It's on by default.

You'll find these in Settings, under External display, and on the prompter's Mirror & display page, under External feed. They belong to the device and are never saved into a script. The layout only takes effect while a display is connected. A display of a different size shows the same words you see, because the feed follows your place by the words.

If that didn't work

If the display shows a mirrored copy of the whole screen, controls and all, choose Rig only so it gets the clean feed. Write to us.
