Help / Drive it with a remote
Set up a pedal, presentation clicker or keyboard
Keyboards, page-turner pedals and presentation remotes work with the space, arrow and page keys right away, and every key can be changed under Controls in the prompter's settings.
- Connect it. Pair it over Bluetooth or plug it in, the way you would for any app.
- Try the default keys. Space starts and stops, and the arrow keys, Page Up, Page Down, Home and End work right away.
- Teach it your buttons. Open Settings, then Controls. The learn pages for a presentation remote and a pedal ask you to press the button you want for each command. Escape is fixed.
- For headphone buttons and shutter remotes, turn on media remotes. They're off by default. Turning them on lets five buttons work: play and pause, next and previous track, and seek. It takes over Now Playing, so music from another app stops on iPhone and iPad.
Game controllers work too, on a fixed map that can't be changed. Shortcuts can open a script in the prompter, make a script or read a script's text. On the Mac, a Contour ShuttlePro v2 or ShuttleXpress jog wheel works over USB; see the Mac article.
If that didn't work
If a clicker pages twice, it may send two keys a press. Teach it again on the learn page. Write to us.
