Session roles: Remote, Monitor, Editor

In a session the host owns the script and the clock. A Remote drives the prompter and sees what it sees, a Monitor sees it and touches nothing, and an Editor drives it and can fix the words live.

  1. Join as Remote or Monitor. In Nearby, choose Join as Remote or Monitor before you pick the prompter.
  2. Make someone an Editor. On the host, open the Session sheet (Manage session in the prompter's Settings), tap the device in the list and choose Editor. A joined device can also switch itself from the Role menu on its Session page.
  3. Set how many can join. Devices allowed on the host's Session sheet runs from 1 to 16; 8 is the default. Browsers count. A device arriving at a full session is told so.
  4. Remove a device. Tap it in the host's list. End Session ends it for everyone, who then have to join again.

Everything a joined device presses is asked of the host, and the answer moves every screen at once. Devices stay joined while the host closes one script and opens the next, until End Session. A joined device shows how it's linked: WIRED, WIFI or P2P.

If that didn't work

If a device can't become an Editor, update both devices to the same version of the app. Write to us.
